Went in expecting a straightforward masala film, got something more layered.

Went in cold and came out completely won over.

Solid OTT watch — exactly the kind of film that works better at home than it might have in a theatre. Nothing here demands the big screen, but nothing here disappoints either. The central performance carries scenes that would otherwise feel fairly routine. Dialogue writing has some genuinely sharp moments scattered through otherwise functional scenes. Background score occasionally oversells emotional beats that didn't need the extra push. A comfortable, well-made film without much ambition beyond being comfortable and well-made. Not a must-watch but a perfectly pleasant way to spend an evening.

The first half had me completely hooked — the pacing, the humor, the way the conflict was set up. Then the second half arrives and it's like a different director took over. The love track slows everything down right when the momentum was building. There's a solid message film buried in here somewhere, but it keeps getting interrupted by unnecessary songs. The lead does a genuinely good job carrying scenes that don't deserve the effort he's putting in. Technically the film is polished — the cinematography in the flashback portions especially stood out. I wanted to love this more than I did. Still worth a watch for the performances alone.
