The writing in the first half was sharper than most recent releases.

Rewatched this after the initial theatrical run and it holds up even better on a second viewing. Details in the background that I missed the first time around add so much to the world-building. The lead pair have genuine chemistry, which honestly saves a script that's fairly thin on plot. Comedy track involving the extended family is hit or miss — mostly hit, occasionally overstretched. Cinematography leans heavily on wide establishing shots that slow the pace but look gorgeous. By the end I wasn't thinking about the plot holes anymore, just enjoying the ride. Not a perfect film but a genuinely fun one.

Went in with zero expectations and came out pleasantly surprised. This is exactly the kind of mid-budget entertainer that doesn't get enough credit. No big stunts, no over-the-top drama — just a tightly written family story that earns its emotional beats. The music director deserves special mention, the background score never overstays its welcome. A couple of side characters felt underused, which is a shame given how well they were introduced. The climax wraps things up a little too neatly, but by then you're invested enough not to mind. Definitely one I'd recommend to anyone tired of formulaic mass entertainers.
